I  JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE AFTER TALKING TO ONE OF THESE "SEND ME YOUR GOLD" COMPANIES .
ON SATURDAY 30TH OF JAN 2010 I SENT OFF 10.3 GRAMS OF HALLMARKED 9CT GOLD CONSISTING OF THREE RINGS AND A BUNDLE OF GOLD PLATED COSTUME JEWELLERY TO ONE OF THESE COMPANIES (I MENTION NO NAMES). NORMALLY I WOULDNT  EVEN BOTHER BUT THIS COMPANY WOUND ME UP BY OFFERING £8.06 PER GRAM FOR 9CT GOLD TO THE PUBLIC  WHEN I HAD JUST SOLD MY GOLD TO ONE OF THE COUNTRIES LEADING BULLION DEALERS FOR £7.89 WHO ONLY DEAL WITH THE JEWELLERY TRADE. WHEN I PHONED THEM ON WEDNESDAY OF LAST WEEK I ASKED HOW THEY COULD PAY 4 PENCE BELOW THE ACTUAL FIX WHEN MOST BULLION DEALERS PAY AT LEAST 3% LESS THAN THE FIX THE GIRL WHO ASWERED THE PHONE COULD NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I SEND OFF SOME OF MY GOLD.
THEIR OFFER FOR 10.3 GRAMS OF 9CT HALLMARKED GOLD WAS JUST OVER £40, WHEN I ASKED WHY BECAUSE THEIR WEBSITE STATED THEY WOULD PAY £8 PER GRAM (TODAYS PRICE) SHE SAID SHE DIDNT REALLY KNOW BUT GUESSED IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS FOREIGN GOLD (WHICH IT WASNT ).
SO IF YOU WANT £4 PER GRAM FOR YOUR GOLD SEND IT OFF TO A SEND US YOUR GOLD COMPANY, IF YOU WANT NEARER ITS TRUE VALUE COME AND SEE US OR ONE OF THE COUNTLESS NUMBER OF REAL JEWELLERS ON YOUR HIGH STREET.

IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF BY THESE COMPANIES WHO HIRE A LOCAL HALL AND SWAMP THE LOCAL AREA WITH FLYERS ADVERTISING THAT THEY BUY GOLD SILVER MEDALS ETC ETC.I JUST HAD A LADY IN MY SHOP WHO GOT OFFERED £234 FOR TWO VERY HEAVY 22CT WEDDING RINGS, AS SHE WAS COMING INTO BEDMINSTER ANYWAY SHE DECLINED THEIR OFFER AND CAME INTO MY SHOP, I OFFERED HER OVER £400 FOR THE SAME TWO RINGS.
I HAVE HAD SOME REAL BAD REPORTS ABOUT THESE COMPANIES ADVERTISING FOR GOLD ON TV AND THROUGH THE NEWSPAPERS, A LADY CAME INTO MY SHOP AND SAID HER PARCEL HAD GONE MISSING , ANOTHER SAID THE COMPANY SHE SENT IT TO SAID THERE WASNT ANY GOLD IN HER PARCEL EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD TAKEN THE JEWELLERY TO HER LOCAL JEWELLERS IN WESTON SUPER MARE AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS GOLD.
PERSONALLY I STILL CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE SEND THERE JEWELLERY OFF BY POST TO COMPANIES THEY DONT KNOW.

According to page 47 of the daily mail on saturday the 12th of september a certain "send us your gold " company was exposed as only paying a fraction of the true value of the gold it was sent,ie they were sent £226.07 worth of gold and only sent a cheque for £90.37.
make up your own mind WOULD YOU SEND YOURS?

THIS JUST CAME TO ME VIA EMAIL FROM ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER ITS ABOUT HER FRIEND.

Incidentelly i was talking to one of my friends who had sent a ring (over £1000 when bought new around 4 years ago) to one of those companies from the tele. She received a cheque for £14.00 so has asked for her ring back. The ring has now been lost in the post (yeah right.....)and is not covered on their insurance.
Thats why I would not trust them.but they said she can keep the cheque. tina south wales

I had a flyer through my door from a company who had hired a local hall asking for gold, so i took down my broken gold and the chain i was wearing as we needed extra cash for our ibiza holiday, the guy in the hall gave me what i thought was a decent price for my gold but something in the back of my head kept telling me not to sell to him , so on the tuesday after i dropped into east street jewellers and got a price from them, they offered me £173 more than the guy in the hall. thanks ginge.

i sent off for one of the packs from one of the companies who are advertising on tv at the moment,when i got the pack back it was just a bag with an address on it, so i sent off the gold i had and they contacted me with a price, it seemed a bit low for the amount i sent so i asked for it back and went into bedminster, i went into all the shops who were asking for gold , some seems a bit snooty and one got rather rude when i said i would try other shops, i went into east street jewellers and the girl made me feel welcome with a nice smile and talked to me like i was human and not down her nose at me, she gave me a price which was a little more than i had been quoted elsewhere so i sold my gold, i have recomended east street jewellers to all my friends not just because they offered more for my gold but because the way i was treated.

i brought my scrap gold in last week and was very pleased with the money i was offered  i also brought in a diamond and ruby ring with a small ruby missing you charged my a 1/3 rd of the price to replace the stone that i was quoted by a jeweller in fishponds many thanks sandra d.

i got fed up with jewellers telling me to go away and get a price for my gold then take it back to them so they will beat any price i got offered, so i took it to east st jewellers and was given a sensible price with no messing about, fair play, when i get some more i will defo be seeing them again.
